A Creative Abode | Echo Park

There are houses that feel less purchased than discovered, as though they had been quietly waiting for the right people to recognise them. This was one of those. My clients had long cherished Echo Park, with its rare village feeling in the midst of Los Angeles, and hoped to remain rooted there. In a pleasing stroke of kismet, the first and only house they wrote on became their home. It is easy to imagine why. The house has that elusive quality shared by many homes of creative people: a certain ease, a sense that life may expand naturally within its walls. Not simply a place to live, but a place to gather, to think, to make, to invite others in. These are often the houses that take on a life of their own. I suspect this one will do so beautifully.
